I've never met Dannii, but I love her! She's so good on TV. I think she's allowed to do what Kylie can't do because she's a bit less guarded.Dannii may be known as a dance diva, something that she's done very well, but she is a requested artist that many want to work with. It's not surprising because if you look back at her stuff over the years you'll find a wide range of music styles. Urban, dance, dance-pop, chills, jazz, even some rockier tunes is among the music throughout the years. Adding her strong vocals that is getting better and better every year, she has the whole package.
I was actually writing songs for Dannii - or rather I was trying to, but I don't think she got any of them. I met her management a while ago and I presented them with a load of songs that I thought would be perfect for her to release.
I think at the time the label wanted to go with something a bit cooler and lot more underground. She should make pop music like Robyn's - she could easily pull it off.
When Dannii arrived to the music scene in the U.K 20 years ago, the industry wanted her to do kind pop songs, a la SAW's stuff. But Dannii who had been working on music for almost all of her young life had other things in mind. She wanted more edge to her music. She knew exactly what she wanted to do do music-wise and it was because of that she was labelled 'difficult' by the industry and one door after another shut. Despite this she managed to cook up a couple of solid albums and a string of hit singles.
Disco has often said that she will always be around music and that it might come back but in a different form.
